FAQS

Is wood really a hygienic material for cutting boards?

Yes! Actually most woods have anti bacterial properties! Our boards are made from European Oak, which is among the most deadly to bacteria. Our boards are self-healing, so bacteria doesn't stay trapped in the scored wood in the same way that it does in plastic.  Also, if you're every worried about the cleanliness of your board, there's plenty of ways to disinfect your board

How do I maintain my board?

The most important thing to remember is not to allow your board to get too wet OR too dry. During the dry winter months, it is necessary to treat your board at least once a month with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax. If you don't, your board will dry out and start to crack. In contrast, if you leave your board in standing water this can be the source of a number of problems as well.

Where can I buy treatment?

There are many sources where you can buy cutting board cream online! Just search for one that includes beeswax as well as mineral oil, as this offers extra waterproof protection.
