Care Summary

1.

Please do not leave your board in standing water. This will cause your board to swell unevenly.

2.

Please do not wash your board in the dishwasher, and don't put it in the microwave or oven.

3.

Treat your board with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax at least once a month (more during winter heating season).

4.

Do not use edible oils such as olive or vegetable oil for board treatment. They make the wood bitter and this will transfer to your food.

5.

When you treat your board, treat all sides evenly. Treating only one side of the board will cause it to warp.

Warped Board

If your board is warped, it got too much moisture on one side. To fix it, you should oil the concave side every day.

Food Stains

If you leave wet food on the board for a long time, it will stain. To fix it, let the board dry and sand it with a fine sandpaper.

Dents and Gouges

If your board gets a dent, grind it with sandpaper until the surface is even, then treat with oil.

Common Problems and Solutions
The most important thing to keep in mind when caring for your boards are that most problems stem from your board being either too wet, or too dry. Never leave water pooled on your board or leave it near a heat source. Regular treatment of your board with mineral and beeswax can make it last for years.
